Why We Started TAUDON

TAUDON didn’t start because the world needed another logo on a T-shirt.
It started because we kept looking at running products and asking the same question:
Why does it have to be done that way?
Running has become incredibly technical. Carbon plates. Super foams. Engineered fabrics. Shoes designed for individual types of sessions.
And yet some of the simplest things still didn’t make sense to us.
Why does good running gear have to be so expensive?
Why do brands launch enormous collections before knowing what runners actually want?
Why can’t we build something, test it ourselves, show people what went wrong, improve it and repeat?
That became the basis of TAUDON.
We’re an independent Australian running and adventure brand, but we’re approaching it more like a development project than a traditional fashion label.
We don’t have decades of footwear manufacturing experience.
We don’t have a giant product-development department.
What we do have is an obsession with running and a willingness to test ideas properly.
That means some of them won’t work.
And we’re okay with showing that too.
Our first major project is the TAUDON APEX running shoe.
Alongside it we’re experimenting with performance apparel, lightweight singlets, natural and alternative fibres, different manufacturing methods and a much smaller approach to product collections.
Rather than pretending everything arrived perfectly formed, we’re going to document it here.
The prototypes.
The kilometres.
The fabrics.
The failures.
The changes.
And eventually, hopefully, some very good running products.
This is TAUDON. Built to endure.
